Water Board begins dyke construction

Wednesday, November 26

The Water Board started this week construction on the dyke behind the Roermond Yumble. This dyke is a subsection of the new raised primary dyke weir and, in the future as well, will have to protect the city against flood waters.

Driving of the dyke wall piles must be finished by the end of December in order to prevent vibration disturbances for the Roermond Yumble which is due to open in March. The work on the dyke should be finished by the spring of 2015. Jazz City is joining in with this dyke construction by raising this area. The integral raising of the area of Jazz City will then become a subsection of the primary dyke weir.
